POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Speech-Language Pathologist Department: Clinical
Classification: Exempt/Salaried/Safety Sensitive Position
Reports To: Lead Therapist/Director/Asst. Director Position Supervises: None
POSITION PURPOSE
Provide Speech Language Pathology services to patients by assessing, diagnosing, treating, and helping prevent disorders related to speech therapy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES
1. Conducts speech language pathology services, as appropriate.
2. Completes speech language pathology evaluations and re-evaluations as prescribed/needed.
3. Completes a formal written report of findings.
4. Develops individualized speech language pathology treatment plans.
5. Provides progress notes in the appropriate format for every service billed.
6. Completes and closes all progress notes in the time frame required by billing system.
7. Assists with completion of other documentation related to speech pathology evaluations and therapy, as appropriate.
8. Maintains familiarity with health and safety guidelines, including standard precautions and daily operating procedures.
9. Refers patients for additional clinical services, as needed.
10. Attends and actively participates in job-related functions such as parent meetings, peer reviews, workshops, and mandatory trainings, as indicated.
11. Represents the program to parents, visitors, and the public in a positive way.
12. Completes relevant and approved continuing professional education each year as required to maintain professional licensure and CCL standards.
13. Maintains familiarity with health and safety guidelines, including standard precautions and daily operating procedures.
14. May perform other related or non-related duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Certification:
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
- Current Arkansaslicense as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association (ASHA) or completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
Experience/ Knowledge required:
- One year of successful experience in a similar position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/ Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
- Ability to work with children between the ages of birth to 7 who are at risk.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills which includes a working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
