Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment for automobile transportation and hazardous materials.
- Plan and execute efficient routes using GPS navigation to meet delivery schedules while adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of cargo such as dangerous goods or logistics cargo.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to guarantee vehicle safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Manage delivery driving tasks across over-the-road routes, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs while maintaining communication with dispatch teams.
- Load & unload freight accurately, handling logistics cargo with attention to detail for truck loading and unloading procedures.
- Maintain compliance with all safety protocols related to hazardous materials regulations and DOT requirements during transportation.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving in various environments.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and hazardous materials handling.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and dangerous goods handling.
- Experience in automobile transportation or specialty freight is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GPS navigation systems for route planning across OTR routes.
- Physical ability to handle manual loading/unloading tasks safely.
