Position Summary
The ID Connect/Procedural Staff RN Provides safe, high-quality nursing care with a focus on care coordination, critical care support, and bedside procedures. Serves as the clinical presenter for Infectious Disease consults and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Infectious Disease providers to facilitate new and follow-up consults, serving as the clinical presenter.
Collaborate with charge RN's and interdisciplinary team to assist with bedside procedures and recovery care, including but not limited to CVC and dialysis catheter placement, chest tube insertions, cardioversions, TEE, transvenous pacing, paracentesis/thoracentesis, and LHC/PCI recovery.
Provide direct nursing care and support for assigned patients, including medication administration, admissions, transfers, discharges, and accompaniment to diagnostic testing as needed.
Perform basic cardiac rhythm interpretation and assist with patient monitoring and management.
Assist with the care of deteriorating patients and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
Demonstrate proficiency with ultrasound-guided IV access, including Sonosite and PowerGlide insertions.
Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive bedside procedures.
Accept and accurately transcribe physician orders and document pertinent patient information in the medical record.
Provide patient and family education related to care, procedures, and recovery.
Maintain knowledge of clinical equipment, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe, effective patient care.
Requirements
Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Demonstrated clinical competence in providing direct patient care across the continuum.
Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythm interpretation and patient monitoring.
Ability to assist with invasive and non-invasive bedside procedures and recovery care.
Proficiency or ability to become proficient in ultrasound-guided IV access, including Sonosite and PowerGlide insertions.
Knowledge of and ability to safely operate clinical equipment and technology.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to deteriorating patient conditions.
Competency in medication administration, admissions, transfers, discharges, documentation, and order transcription.
Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Obtain ACLS within six months and maintain
- LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
