Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and Hi-Lo trucks, to handle materials safely and accurately. Your expertise in warehouse management systems and order picking will ensure smooth shipping and receiving operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to warehouse distribution processes while maintaining high safety standards and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, move, and organize materials within the warehouse.
- Execute order picking tasks with precision using various equipment such as <PERSON> pickers and order picker machines to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy in documentation and proper handling of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly stacking pallets, securing loads, and adhering to safety protocols outlined by OSHA regulations.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure machinery remains in optimal working condition; report major mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with warehouse management system (WMS) data entry for inventory tracking, order processing, and stock replenishment activities.
- Support warehouse distribution operations by coordinating with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and meet productivity goals.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo’s, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), shipping & receiving procedures, and inventory control practices.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
- Excellent physical stamina for heavy lifting, load & unload tasks, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors in a fast-paced environment.
