Responsibilities
- Assist with legal research, analysis, and the preparation of legal documents including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
- Manage case files using case management software such as iManage and document management systems to ensure accurate filing and easy retrieval of information.
- Perform data entry tasks related to case details, client information, and legal documentation with precision and attention to detail.
- Proofread all legal documents for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to legal terminology and formatting standards.
- Support attorneys in legal discovery processes by organizing and reviewing evidence, documents, and relevant data.
- Handle client communication professionally via phone or email, providing updates and gathering necessary information while maintaining confidentiality.
- Maintain organized filing systems both digitally and physically, ensuring compliance with confidentiality protocols and legal standards.
- Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to draft documents, manage schedules, and communicate effectively within the team.
- Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings.
- Support the firm’s overall operations by handling routine clerical tasks including document processing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
Qualifications
- Must be EAMS proficient.
- Proven paralegal or legal administrative experience in a law office setting.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret legal documents and research findings accurately.
- Proficiency in legal drafting, Word processing, proofreading, and familiarity with case management software like iManage or similar platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail in document management and filing procedures.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, discovery procedures, and legal research techniques.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with case management software is preferred.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear correspondence and legal documents.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Previous law office experience or a background in legal support roles is highly desirable.
