Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installer to oversee and execute complex HVAC system installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. Duties
- Lead the installation of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems with precision and adherence to schematics and design plans
- Supervise and mentor a team of technicians during installation, repair, and maintenance tasks to ensure quality workmanship and safety compliance
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and plumbing issues using tools such as ohmmeters and diagnostic software; troubleshoot equipment problems efficiently
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to guide installation processes accurately
- Perform system repairs including electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, HVAC system maintenance, and appliance repair to ensure optimal operation
- Coordinate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions, maintenance procedures, and addressing concerns professionally
- Ensure all work complies with EPA regulations for refrigerants and safety standards for handling ammonia refrigeration or other hazardous materials
Qualifications
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in HVAC system installation and mechanical systems repair
- Service technician experience with electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems, plumbing, and building automation systems
- Ability to read schematics accurately and apply HVAC design principles effectively
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing boilers, air conditioning units, appliances, property maintenance systems, and ammonia refrigeration systems
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, ohmmeters, diagnostic equipment, and other mechanical tools necessary for troubleshooting and repair
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> driver preferred
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or electrical systems are advantageous
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
