The Interpersonal Violence Advocate provides advocacy and resource coordination based on the empowerment approach. Under the supervision of an Associate Director, the Advocate is responsible for providing evidence-based, confidential advocacy and support services to primary and secondary student survivors of sexual assault, gender-based and intimate partner violence, stalking, and harassment to include sexual and street harassment.Primary duties include:
- Serves a part of an on-call team that answers and responds to calls on the 24/7 hotline for a designated period during business hours and after hours through the on-call rotation.
- Provide confidential and comprehensive advocacy services that are empowerment-based and trauma-informed for primary and secondary survivors of interpersonal violence (sexual assault, relationship/intimate partner violence, stalking and harassment).
- Functions as liaison for survivors with campus and/or community partners. Coordinates campus and community resources to support survivors including emergency housing, food, clothing, transportation, and other appropriate assistance.
- Ensure data is up-to-date and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in regular professional development opportunities offered by campus, state, and national resources.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health promotion/education, public health, social work, or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with victims/survivors of interpersonal violence.
- Preferred experience working in a college/university setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Pending graduates eligible if candidate receives their degree by date of employment.
