Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled full & part-time Road Maintenance Personnel to join our team. As a Road Maintenance Work, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties to ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of Platte County, MO roads and bridges. This is a hands-on role that requires experience in driving pickups/large trucks, operation of various types of equipment and performing various road & bridge maintenance tasks.
Duties:
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, dump trucks, loaders, front loader trucks, graders, and other machinery. A mechanical aptitude is a plus
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Repair and maintain gravel and asphalt roads, general bridge maintenance, mowing, snow removal and other duties as assigned by the Road & Bridge Manager
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times
Experience:
- Proven experience in operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, dump trucks, loaders, front loader trucks, graders, etc. Class A or B CDL is preferred.
- Knowledge of road & bridge maintenance is a plus
- Proficient in performing various maintenance tasks as they relate to roads and bridges
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
