Tri-Township Jr-Sr High School is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Varsity Girls Cross Country Coach to lead and grow our high school girls cross country program. This position is focused on building a competitive team culture that emphasizes effort, discipline, sportsmanship, and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in distance running and conditioning while maintaining a strong commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.

Plan and lead practices that develop athletes’ endurance, technique, and racing strategies.

Identify and nurture individual student-athlete strengths to support overall team success.

Promote a culture of hard work, accountability, and team unity.

Prepare athletes physically and mentally for meets through conditioning, pacing strategies, and course preparation.

Collaborate with assistant coaches, athletic staff, and administration to manage schedules, transportation, equipment, and facilities.

Monitor academic progress and serve as a mentor to student-athletes.

Ensure safety during all training and competition activities by teaching proper technique and adhering to health and safety protocols.

Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and school personnel regarding expectations, schedules, and team progress.

Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.

Strong knowledge of cross country training methods, race strategies, and IHSAA rules.

Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Ability to work with and motivate diverse groups of student-athletes.

Must pass a background check in accordance with school district policies.

Availability for practices, meets, and related events.

Commitment to supporting the values and expectations of Tri-Township Schools and the IHSAA.
Stipend based on the teacher’s master contract.
