Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic to join our maintenance team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate takes genuine pride in their craft, is reliable and schedule-driven, and has a passion for growing their career within general aviation. Key Responsibilities
- Perform 100-hour inspections on Cessna 172 aircraft (1969–1977) in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer maintenance manuals
- Identify, document, and resolve squawks reported by flight instructors and student pilots in a timely manner
- Collaborate daily with flight instructors to communicate aircraft status, return-to-service timelines, and any airworthiness concerns
- Work alongside maintenance peers to coordinate workload, share knowledge, and maintain shop efficiency
- Maintain accurate and thorough maintenance records and logbook entries per FAA requirements
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with 14 CFR Part 43 and applicable ADs (Airworthiness Directives)
- Support the general upkeep and continued airworthiness of the flight training fleet
Required Qualifications
- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Demonstrated experience performing 100-hour inspections, preferably on Cessna 172 or similar single-engine piston aircraft
- Strong working knowledge of Continental and/or Lycoming engines common to the C172 platform
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and ADs
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a consistent Monday–Friday schedule
- Strong communication skills for daily interaction with flight instructors and team members
- Self-motivated with a high standard of workmanship and close attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on Cirrus aircraft (SR20/SR22) is a plus, but not required
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) certificate, or interest in pursuing one
- Familiarity with avionics systems common to training aircraft
- Experience in a Part 61 flight school or similar general aviation environment
Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
