Job Overview
Skyline Builders LLC is looking for a CAD Drafter, Drafting Assistant, or Engineering Student to help prepare construction drawings, permit drawings, site plans, and basic engineering plan layouts for residential and manufactured home projects.
This position can be part-time or full-time depending on experience and availability. We are open to hiring an engineering student, recent graduate, or experienced drafter who is comfortable working with construction plans and permit packages.
Duties
Prepare and revise construction drawings, site plans, foundation layouts, utility layouts, structural details, and permit plan sets.
Work with our project management and permitting team to update drawings based on field measurements, city/county comments, and project requirements.
Assist with manufactured home setup plans, foundations, decks, stairs, ramps, aluminum structures, screen rooms, concrete layouts, and other residential construction scopes.
Read and understand sketches, measurements, site photos, surveys, and markups.
Coordinate with engineers, permit specialists, and office staff to make sure drawings are accurate and ready for permit submittal.
Revise plans quickly when corrections or comments are received from building departments.
Requirements
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Chief Architect, or similar drafting software.
- Ability to read construction drawings, surveys, and field measurements.
- Basic understanding of residential construction, foundations, structural details, utilities, and building layouts.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Engineering, architecture, construction management, or drafting students are welcome to apply.
- Must be organized and able to communicate clearly with the team.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing permit drawings in Florida.
- Experience with manufactured homes, modular homes, residential construction, foundations, decks, stairs, ramps, aluminum structures, or site plans.
- Knowledge of Florida building codes is a plus.
- Ability to create clean, professional drawings from sketches, photos, and measurements.
This position is for drafting and plan preparation support. Any plans requiring engineering review, approval, or professional seal will be reviewed and handled by the appropriate licensed professional.
Schedule
Flexible schedule available. Part-time or full-time position depending on the candidate.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
