The Sr. Marketing & Communications Specialist acts as an account specialist for assigned Battelle business lines to develop marketing campaigns to support lead generation and support sales goals. This role partners closely with business line leaders, business development, commercial sales and the Marketing and Communications team to plan, coordinate and deliver end-to-end integrated campaigns that increase awareness, accelerate pipeline and support growth opportunities in highly regulated and complex industries.
- Serve as a strategic partner for assigned business lines, helping SME’s define marketing campaigns to support business goals.

Plan and deliver clear, timely and engaging marketing content across agreed channels, including digital, email, conferences & trade shows, printed materials, social media and advertising.

Translate business, technical and strategic topics into messages that are accessible, relevant and meaningful for diverse audiences.

Coordinate and manage cross-functional development of marketing materials (e.g., blogs, white papers, slick sheets), collaborating with writers, designers and other specialists as needed.

Demonstrate strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive, confidential or time sensitive information.

Coordinate with vendors/agencies and paid/partner coordination.

Maintain editorial calendars, timelines and content plans for supported areas, ensuring alignment with broader enterprise communications.

Measure effectiveness of marketing campaigns and generate insights to optimize future activities.

Ensure all marketing communications for supported areas adhere to Battelle’s brand, voice and style guidelines and are consistent with enterprise messaging and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field; 8 years of experience in marketing communications or a closely related field, with demonstrated experience managing client or stakeholder relationships and delivering strategic communication support; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in a related field.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, polished interpersonal skills and familiarity with a broad range of communication channels, techniques and technologies.
- Experience integrating artificial intelligence into work processes, marketing campaigns, and content development.

Experience operating in regulated environments with rigorous review/approval processes.

Experience working with Salesforce, CMS, web analytics, marketing automation/journey tools a plus.
Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $81,600 - $116,300 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
