Responsibilities
Assist carpenters and construction crews with the preparation and setup of job sites, including measuring, cutting, and handling materials.
Support framing, drywall installation, trim carpentry, cabinet hanging, door hanging, siding, and flooring installation projects.
Operate hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, and basic power tools for woodworking and framing tasks.
Use power tools safely for woodworking projects including saws, drills, sanders, and CNC machines when applicable.
Help with the fabrication of wood components and the installation of fixtures, mold remediation materials, or water damage restoration elements.
Assist with heavy lifting of construction materials like wood construction materials, rebar for concrete forming or masonry supplies.
Follow blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution while interpreting construction plans effectively.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of debris regularly.
Support specialized tasks such as metal stud framing, plastering, stucco application, caulking, or masonry work as needed.
Adhere to all safety protocols including power tool safety procedures to prevent accidents on site.
Skills
Proven experience in construction or related fields such as remodeling or restoration industry work is preferred.
Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques including residential carpentry, trim carpentry, framing, cabinetry installation and door hanging.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately for precise project completion.
Familiarity with woodworking machines and power tools used in framing and finishing work.
Experience with concrete forming, rebar installation or masonry is a plus for versatile project support.
Knowledge of water damage restoration processes or mold remediation enhances your versatility on diverse projects.
Excellent physical stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces; ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Understanding of construction estimating processes can be beneficial but is not mandatory for entry-level helpers.
Strong commitment to safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards.
