This is not a remote position. You'll be responsible for individual tutoring within your own content area at our office in East Cobb.
Additional responsibilities at East Cobb Tutoring Center will include communicating with families and maintaining your schedule. You'll help students gain confidence, reduce academic stress, and achieve their goals.
Our tutors enjoy working with one student at a time—without lesson planning, grading, discipline issues, or large class sizes. You'll build lasting relationships with students while helping them grow academically and gain confidence. You'll help continue the reputation we've built as one of Georgia's premier tutoring centers. Best of all, you will be able to do what you love, on your schedule, while making extra money!
This position is ideal for current classroom teachers, retired educators, intervention specialists, and experienced elementary teachers looking for flexible after-school work. Many of our tutors have been with us for years because they enjoy the flexibility, supportive environment, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives. Most of our students attend highly rated East Cobb schools and come to us for confidence-building and targeted academic support.
Schedule:
- Most tutors work 4–6 hours per week.
- You tell us the days and hours you're available, and we build your schedule around that availability.
- Tutors commit to the same weekly schedule to provide consistency for students.
- Minimum weekly availability: 5 hours.
- Tutoring sessions are scheduled Monday–Thursday from 3–8 pm and throughout the day on Sundays.
- We are closed Friday and Saturday.
Tutors are paid bi-weekly as independent contractors (1099). This is an in-person position at our East Cobb office in Marietta. Please consider your commute before applying. All applicants who reach a face-to-face interview will be asked to teach a short lesson.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Georgia teaching certification
- Classroom teaching experience with elementary students
- Strong math skills through fifth grade
- Knowledge of current Georgia elementary curriculum and local school expectations preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
