Residential Direct Support Professional

Position Summary
As a Residential Direct Support Professional, you’ll play a vital role in assisting clients with daily activities, including medication administration, meal planning, transportation, and personal care. You’ll help clients manage their budgets, maintain a safe and clean environment, and achieve their personal goals through Person-Centered Support Plans (PCSPs).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily Support: Provide day-to-day services in residential settings, including training, meal preparation, and shopping.
- Health & Safety: Administer medications as prescribed, monitor health concerns, and maintain emergency equipment. Report health changes and incidents promptly.
- Financial Assistance: Help clients manage budgets, maintain spending records, and organize receipts.
- Community Engagement: Support clients in participating in community activities and accessing local resources.
- Client Development: Work closely with clients to meet their personal goals, ensuring PCSPs are implemented and documented effectively.
- Home Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe living environment, assisting with cleaning, laundry, and other household tasks.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no major infractions within the past 36 months).
- Automobile liability insurance as required by the State of Kansas.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Working with people with developmental disabilities.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and documentation.
- Commitment to maintaining the rights, dignity, and respect of all clients.
Work Environment
This is an in-person role that requires mental stability and emotional intelligence to handle the stresses of working with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities.
Compensation
Earn $15.25–$16.00 per hour while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
