Rainbow Country Day School is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our growing team! We are a boutique preschool serving children ages 2–5 in a beautiful, nature-inspired environment that blends Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and play-based learning.

Position Summary
As an Assistant Teacher/Floater, you'll provide support throughout the school by assisting lead teachers, covering breaks, helping maintain classroom routines, and stepping into different classrooms as needed. Every day is a little different, making this a great position for someone who enjoys variety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Support lead teachers with daily classroom activities and routines.
- Supervise and actively engage children during indoor and outdoor play.
- Assist with meals, snacks, toileting, and nap routines.
- Help prepare learning materials and maintain an organized classroom.
- Provide coverage during teacher breaks and absences.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff.
- Follow all California Community Care Licensing regulations and school policies.
- Participate in school events, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- 12+ ECE units (or currently enrolled)
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children
- Current Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification
- Ability to pass Live Scan fingerprint clearance and required background checks
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Proof of immunizations and pass health screening

Responsibilities
- Assist with the Development and implementation of age-appropriate lesson plans that promote social and emotional intelligence, literacy education, physical education, the Arts, Mathematics, and science.
- Provide attentive care, ensuring the safety and well-being of each child in the classroom.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and social interaction among students.
- Assess student progress through running records, observations, specific standard testing and observational methods to tailor educational approaches effectively.
- Collaborate with lead teachers, parents and guardians to discuss student development and address any concerns regarding child welfare.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space that reflects the children’s work and achievements.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
