Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Liquor Store Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in wines, tequila, and whiskey, with the ability to provide recommendations and educate customers on different brands, flavors, and pairings. Responsibilities include assisting customers, managing inventory, stocking shelves/coolers, making deliveries, and ensuring compliance with liquor laws. Strong communication skills, a passion for spirits, and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential for this role. Duties
- Assist customers with wine, tequila, and whiskey selections based on their preferences.
- Provide product recommendations and educate customers on brands, flavors, and pairings.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash, and process credit/debit transactions.
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure proper product rotation to maintain freshness.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, restocking as needed.
- Ensure compliance with state and local liquor laws, including checking IDs for age verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
- Assist with receiving shipments and verifying product deliveries.
- Participate in promotions, tastings, and special events to engage customers.
- Provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries or concerns professionally.
Requirements
- Knowledge of wines, tequila, and whiskey, including brands, tasting notes, and food pairings.
- Previous experience in liquor retail, hospitality, bartending, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong customer service and sales skills with the ability to assist and educate customers.
- Ability to handle cash transactions, operate a POS system, and manage inventory.
- Understanding of state and local liquor laws and compliance requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
