Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will support the accounting department by performing essential bookkeeping, data entry, and financial analysis tasks. Your contributions will help ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and smooth operational workflows. Duties
- Assist with general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions using software such as ADP, or QuickBooks
- Prepare journal entries and perform double-entry bookkeeping to record financial activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Support month-end closing procedures, including account analysis and ledger review
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry and financial recordkeeping
- Contribute to payroll management tasks using Kronos or UltiPro systems, ensuring timely processing of employee payments
- Assist with audit preparations, compliance activities, and internal control documentation
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian
- Strong understanding of GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management
- Knowledge of financial software including QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, or similar platforms
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while demonstrating professionalism and integrity
- Effective communication skills for customer service interactions and team collaboration
- Prior experience in public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus but not required

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
