Truck Driver – Day Shift
Responsible for safely and efficiently transporting materials, products, and supplies to and from customers, vendors, and Metro Steel USA facilities. The position ensures timely deliveries and pickups according to company schedules and customer requirements. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, securing loads, inspecting vehicles, maintaining accurate delivery paperwork, and providing professional customer service at all delivery locations. The Truck Driver must follow all safety procedures, DOT regulations, and company policies while representing Metro Steel in a professional manner.
Truck Driver Job Duties:
· Safely operate company trucks to deliver and pick up materials, products, and supplies.
· Load, unload, and secure materials properly to prevent damage during transportation.
· Inspect vehicle before and after each shift and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
· Verify delivery instructions, customer information, and required paperwork before departure.
· Maintain accurate delivery tickets, bills of lading, and related documents.
· Communicate with Shipping, Production, Sales, and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
· Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries and pickups.
· Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies.
· Assist with general warehouse or shipping duties when not making deliveries.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Truck Driver Skills and Qualifications:
Valid Class A CDL driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to safely operate company vehicles, experience securing loads, strong communication skills, dependable attendance, and ability to lift and move materials as needed.
