Duties
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate mental health status, behavioral challenges, and developmental needs of children and families.
- Deliver individual, group, family, and child & youth counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and art therapy.
- Implement evidence-based interventions including motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, conflict management, and trauma-informed care (e.g., PTSD care).
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, educators, and other service providers to develop and monitor personalized treatment plans aligned with client goals.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards within electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Manage case coordination by tracking client progress through data collection, progress notes, and outcome measurements to ensure quality care delivery.
- Provide crisis management when necessary by responding promptly to urgent behavioral or mental health situations in the home environment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), disabilities, special education strategies, and cultural competency practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification preferred.
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health therapies including applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family therapy, and child & family counseling.
- Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention, conflict management, and trauma-informed care techniques.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, electronic health records (EHR), and medical documentation standards.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently in home settings while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or in-home behavioral settings is highly preferred.
- Cultural competency skills to effectively serve diverse populations with sensitivity and respect.
