Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding service to enhance their shopping experience.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling to maximize sales opportunities.
- Stock shelves, merchandise displays, and organize products to ensure an attractive store presentation.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, restock items, and manage stock levels to meet customer demand.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including cleaning counters and ensuring aisles are clear.
- Handle phone inquiries professionally following proper phone etiquette and direct calls as needed.
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members during shifts to ensure smooth store operations.
- Support promotional activities by setting up displays and participating in product demos when required.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, cash handling policies, and store policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous retail experience or familiarity with grocery stores is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers in a bilingual environment is a plus.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and sales transactions.
- Experience with POS systems or cashiering is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette.
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for those interested in team oversight roles.
