About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, contributing to the production of high-precision components. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in CNC programming, tooling selection, and precision measurement to ensure parts meet stringent quality standards. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will directly impact the quality and reliability of our products.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal mills (4-axis with palletizing) and CNC turning centers.
- Load and secure fixtures with raw materials or partially machined parts, following detailed instructions on job routers.
- Employ precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications, documenting results meticulously.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues, seeking assistance when encountering complex problems or out-of-tolerance measurements.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, quality checks, and any scrap generated during the machining process.
- Ensure proper coolant and oil levels are maintained for optimal machine performance and tool life.
- Contribute to a safe and organized work environment by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in CNC machining, particularly with CNC turning centers and CNC mill machines.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) code.
- Ability to use a variety of precision measuring tools and instruments.
- Strong understanding of CNC machine setup and changeover procedures.
- Experience working in the defense or aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems.
- Experience with CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC)
- Experience with CNC Lathe (5+ axis)
