While prior experience in a bakery or food production environment is preferred, we welcome individuals who are motivated, hardworking, and excited about being part of a team that brings high-quality baked goods to the Bay Area. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility for early morning shifts and weekend availability.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and mix ingredients according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Verify correct ingredient measurements and adherence to established formulations.
- Portion and prepare recipes following company standards.
- Execute the baking process while maintaining proper timing, temperature, and quality standards.
- Record batch numbers to maintain traceability for quality control.
- Keep the production area organized, replenishing ingredients and materials as needed.
- Clean and assemble packaging materials.
- Support packaging and labeling of finished products to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Follow cooling and storage procedures to preserve product quality and food safety.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure production goals and schedules are met efficiently.
- Conduct quality checks and report any inconsistencies.
- Sanitize equipment, tools, and surfaces during and after production.
- Follow waste management and recycling protocols.
- Adhere to personal hygiene standards.
- Coordinate workflow efficiently with team members.
- Provide support across different tasks/teams as needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions, ingredient shortages, or process deviations to leads or managers.
- Participate in training and cross-training programs.
- Minimize waste and optimize ingredient usage.
- Identify and suggest production flow improvements.
- Ensure correct and safe equipment usage to prevent accidents or damage.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including HACCP and FDA standards, as well as company policies.
- Follow Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols as required.
- Report potential safety hazards and maintain proper documentation of cleaning and sanitation tasks.
Other Duties:
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Company to meet business needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 or more hours per shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, including lifting, twisting, bending, and reaching, while safely handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Bakery Production Work Environment
- These jobs include physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy containers, operating machinery, and performing manual production tasks.
Qualifications
- Early morning shifts, weekend shifts, and some holidays.
- Previous experience in a production or food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures.
- Understanding of safety, sanitation, and quality control regulations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
