The Circles of Hope Program Coordinator serves as the lead in supporting children, teens, and families who have experienced the loss of a loved one due to death. This position coordinates a peer-led model of grief support where connection, shared experience, and community create a powerful path toward healing. This position is the point of contact for Family Fridays, Teen Group, and School-Based Grief Support programming. This role also supports the coordination of New Hope Center for Grief Support's annual summer Kids’ Camp.
Responsibilities:
- Using an evidence-based curriculum, creates, prepares, and executes lesson plans and agendas for New Hope Center for Grief Support’s child, teen, and family peer-led groups.
- Serves as the point of contact for school partners.
- Assists with the “Train the Trainer” program for school staff.
- Facilitates all school-based grief support groups and teen groups.
- Coordinates with the Grief Care & Volunteer Manager to recruit programming volunteers.
- Trains and schedules the volunteers needed for child, teen, and family peer-led group programming.
- Collects and maintains program and evaluation data to maintain accurate and timely records and reports, including attendance, permission forms, surveys, and other program data.
- Assists with the coordination and production of the annual summer Kids’ Camp.
- Participates in professional development opportunities centered on grief education.
- Supports other related responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization’s mission.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work preferred. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, child development, social work, psychology, or health and human services required.
- Highly organized, strong work ethic, self-starter, and enjoys working with children, teens, and families.
- Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.
- 1-3 years of experience working with children, teens, and families.
- Experience leading volunteers preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, as necessary.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel a 25+ mile radius from the main office, if necessary.
- Competency with daily use of software and data entry, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Able to meet all requirements necessary to pass relevant government background checks.
