ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned
- Oversee the school health services program
- Initial care for the sick or injured student and staff member
- Administer first aid and emergency procedures according to school protocol
- Implement immunization requirements and screening programs mandated by Indiana law
- Dispense prescription and OTC medications as ordered
- Provide care/assistance to students outlined in their Individualized Health Care Plan with the proper training
- Create and maintain current health records on all students
- Attend relevant RTI meetings/special education conferences as needed
- Maintain confidential employee health records
- Maintain first aid equipment to be used in clinic, office, classrooms as well as specialty first aid equipment (i.e.: Narcan, EpiPen, etc.).
- Serve as a liaison between school, home, and the community
- Maintain daily log of clinic activities
- Maintain confidentiality
- Maintain a current first aid and CPR/AED provider card
- Promote and maintain positive relationships with all students, parents, and staff
- Attend required training sessions and staff meetings
- Participate in school committees (i.e.: wellness, crisis team)
- Handle clerical functions/reports in a timely manner
- Must be well organized, responsible, and flexible
- Communicate proficiently in English oral and written communication
- Communicate and meet with parents as needed
- Maintain satisfactory attendance
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Degree or Certification in Nursing - REQUIRED
- Valid LPN or RN license through the Indiana State Board of Nursing/IPLA
- Child Abuse and Neglect Training
- Valid CPR and AED Certification from an IDOE approved provider
- Prior experience in school health care / working with children is a plus
Physical Demands and Work Environment

- Light lifting and exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
- Environment may be noisy during high student traffic.
Terms of Employment
10-months / 191 school days, full-time; 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., $30-$32 per hour based on experience, benefits available. Job is exempt from overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
