Job Summary

Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning foods under supervision.
- Support meal preparation by setting up workstations, replenishing supplies, and ensuring ingredients are ready for cooking or serving.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by sweeping floors, wiping down surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Follow food handling protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist with catering setup and serving as needed during events or meal times.
- Support the culinary team by adhering to menu plans, helping with inventory management, and ensuring all kitchen tools are properly maintained.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable.
- Kitchen or restaurant experience that includes food handling, meal preparation, or cooking is preferred.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper sanitation practices is essential.
- Experience in food industry settings such as catering or food service environments will be advantageous.
- Strong knife skills and basic culinary knowledge are beneficial for assisting with food prep tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Passion for learning about menu planning, food presentation, and culinary techniques is a plus.
