Production Manager – Crushed Stone Quarry

Job Overview
McCar Materials is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to lead daily operations at our Georgetown limestone quarry and aggregate processing facility. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and profitable production while leading operators, mechanics, and support personnel in a fast-paced crushed stone operation.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in aggregate production, crushing and screening operations, heavy equipment management, maintenance planning, and team leadership. This is a field-focused leadership position requiring the highest level of accountability, urgency, operational decision-making and efficiency
Responsibilities
- Manage all daily quarry, crushing, screening, and loadout operations.
- Lead and supervise equipment operators, plant operators, mechanics, laborers, and contractors.
- Ensure production targets, product quality standards, and customer demand requirements are consistently achieved.
- Coordinate drilling, blasting, crushing, screening, stockpiling, and shipping activities.
- Monitor plant performance and optimize throughput, yield, and operating costs.
- Develop and enforce preventative maintenance programs for fixed and mobile equipment.
- Maintain compliance with all MSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, inspections, and field audits.
- Track production, downtime, maintenance costs, and operating efficiencies.
- Assist with budgeting, cost control, and operational planning.
- Troubleshoot production bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, ownership, and professionalism.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in aggregate, mining, quarry, or crushed stone operations.
- Previous experience as a Production Manager, Plant Manager, Superintendent, Quarry Foreman, or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of crushing, screening, conveying, and material handling systems.
- Experience managing heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and support equipment.
- Understanding of preventative maintenance and equipment reliability programs.
- Ability to lead crews, hold personnel accountable, and maintain high performance standards.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with production reporting and operational metrics.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
Preferred
- MSHA safety experience.
- Limestone quarry experience.
- Experience managing operations exceeding 1M tons annually

Schedule
