Ultimate Sportswear is looking for a skilled and dependable Production Manager to lead our custom apparel production team. We specialize in embroidery, DTF printing, and branded merchandise, and we need someone who understands both the technical side of production and the importance of meeting deadlines with quality work.
Position Summary
The Production Manager will oversee daily production operations, operate embroidery machines and DTF heat press equipment, manage workflow, maintain quality standards, and help ensure orders are completed accurately and on time. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience in embroidery and DTF production and can lead a team in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and manage embroidery machines, including setup, threading, hooping, loading designs, and troubleshooting
- Operate DTF heat press equipment and ensure proper temperature, pressure, placement, and timing
- Review work orders and prioritize production schedules
- Manage daily production workflow from setup through completion
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, placement, thread quality, color, and overall appearance
- Train, supervise, and support production staff
- Maintain inventory of thread, backing, film, powder, transfers, garments, and other production supplies
- Communicate with sales, design, and customer service teams regarding order details, deadlines, and production issues
- Perform routine machine maintenance and coordinate repairs when needed
- Keep the production area clean, organized, and safe
- Track production progress and report delays or supply needs promptly
- Ensure all orders meet company quality standards before they leave production
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating commercial embroidery machines, Tajima, Barudan, Galaxy preferred.
- Proven experience operating DTF heat press equipment
- Strong understanding of garment decoration, placement, hooping, stabilizers, thread types, and production workflow
- Ability to read and follow detailed work orders
- Experience supervising or managing a production team preferred
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to troubleshoot machine, thread, garment, and transfer issues
- Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes or garments as needed
- Reliable, punctual, and able to take ownership of production results
Preferred Experience
- Experience with multi-head embroidery machines
- Knowledge of digitized embroidery files and basic file preparation
- Experience with DTF transfers, curing, pressing, and finishing
- Background in custom apparel, uniforms, promotional products, or print shop production
- Inventory management or production scheduling experience
