Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional patient care across all shifts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting patient well-being, demonstrating excellent communication skills, and maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in assisting healthcare teams by delivering direct care, ensuring comfort, and promoting a positive environment for patients of diverse backgrounds and needs.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support.
Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, accurately documenting all findings in electronic health records (EHR systems).
Support patients with specialized needs including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and behavioral health requirements.
Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and basic life support when necessary.
Ensure infection control practices are followed diligently using aseptic techniques and proper sanitation protocols.
Collaborate with nursing staff to develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's condition and preferences.
Operate patient handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively to prevent injury.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and medical records integrity.
Requirements
Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the applicable state or region.
Experience working in various healthcare settings including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic medical procedures relevant to patient care.
Prior experience with critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to caregiving.
