Love food — making it AND talking about it? Alchemy Foods is a Tucson-based, woman-owned food company making a mushroom-based plant protein that's winning over vegans and meat-eaters alike. We sell out at farmers markets regularly, we're stocked at Food Conspiracy Co-op and local restaurants, we've been featured in Tucson Foodie, and we're growing fast.
We're hiring a part-time team member, and our ideal person does a bit of everything: helping produce Alchemy in our commercial kitchen during the week, then selling it at the farmers market on the weekend. There's no better salesperson than the person who made it — you'll know the product inside and out, and you'll see the whole journey from raw mushrooms to a customer's "wow."

In the kitchen (weekdays):
- Learn and follow our standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Wash and prep mushrooms; process and cook ingredients
- Package finished products for markets, retail, and wholesale
- Help keep the kitchen clean, organized, and efficient
At the market (weekend mornings):
- Set up and break down our booth (canopy, tables, coolers)
- Prepare and serve food samples throughout the market
- Talk with new and returning customers about Alchemy and how to cook with it
- Process sales on Square and keep the booth stocked and looking great
What we're looking for:
- Dependable, organized, and consistent — you take pride in doing things right
- Friendly and comfortable talking with people (for the market side)
- Kitchen experience, professional or serious home cooking (for the kitchen side)
- Interest in food, cooking, or plant-based eating (you don't need to be vegan — most of our customers aren't!)
- Able to comfortably lift 40–50 lbs (coolers, equipment, ingredients)
- Reliable transportation
- Food handler card, or willing to get one before starting (quick online course — we'll point you to it)
