J&M Welding, Inc. is a structural steel fabrication and welding subcontractor based in Paso Robles, CA. We’re a growing team looking for an experienced Shop Manager to oversee daily shop operations and lead our fabrication crew.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee all day-to-day shop operations and crew activities
- Schedule work and assign individual tasks to crew members
- Manage and mentor a crew of up to 20 fabricators and welders
- Maintain quality control standards throughout the fabrication process
- Coordinate shipping and receiving of materials and finished goods
- Keep the shop organized, safe, and running efficiently
- Communicate with project management on production status and priorities
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 4 years of experience in structural steel fabrication or a related trade
- Proven ability to lead and manage a shop crew
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to read and interpret fabrication drawings and work orders
- Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Professional, reliable, and able to follow direction and work within established systems
