Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisor to lead our veterinary team with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily clinical operations, mentor veterinary technicians, train and onboard newly hired technicians and VAs and ensure the highest standards of animal care. Looking for an individual with energetic leadership to help cultivate a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional pet care and advancing veterinary practices. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of veterinary technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care
- Oversee animal handling procedures, including restraint, catheterization, and pet grooming to ensure safety and comfort for animals and staff
- Assist in training staff on veterinary terminology, aseptic techniques, laboratory procedures, and X-ray operation to enhance team skills
- Manage clinical tasks such as performing dental cleanings, administering medications, and supporting critical care cases with veterinary expertise
- Maintain accurate medical records, laboratory logs, and imaging reports in compliance with clinic protocols
- Support pet care activities including animal husbandry, feeding, and monitoring vital signs to promote optimal health outcomes
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols related to animal anatomy knowledge, animal physiology, and veterinary critical care procedures
Experience
- Proven experience as a veterinary technician or in a similar animal healthcare role with supervisory responsibilities preferred
- Familiarity with dental terminology, laboratory testing procedures, X-ray technology, and aseptic techniques
- Hands-on experience in animal restraint, sample collection, and animal husbandry
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, preventative and critical care practices for companion animals
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of animal welfare and client service
