About the Opportunity
Metropol-Tech Consulting Inc. (MTCI) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Hudson Valley Healthcare System. This position provides direct patient care services to Veterans in a state-of-the-art healthcare environment serving medical, psychiatric, geriatric, and nursing home populations.

VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System – Montrose Campus
Castle Point VA Medical Center – Wappingers Falls Campus

Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides skilled nursing care to patients in Intermediate Care, Medical Nursing Home Care, Psychiatric Care, and other assigned clinical settings. The LPN works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and collaborates with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to adult, psychiatric, medical, and geriatric patients.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and VA policies.
Prepare, administer, and document oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications.
Observe, assess, and document patient responses to treatments and medications.
Report significant patient condition changes to the Registered Nurse or physician.
Assist with patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation.
Adhere to all VA policies, HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Deliver exceptional customer service to Veterans and their families.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited State-approved School of Practical Nursing or Vocational Nursing.
Licensure
Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
License must be active and in good standing without restrictions.
Certifications
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Experience
Experience working with adult, geriatric, psychiatric, or medical-surgical patients preferred.
Experience in nursing homes, long-term care, rehabilitation, behavioral health, or acute care settings is highly desirable.
Experience working in electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.

Work Schedule
Available shifts may include:
7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
7:30 AM – 8:00 PM
7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Schedules may include weekends, holidays, and rotating assignments based on facility needs.
Orientation and Training
Selected candidates will participate in:
Two-day VA nursing orientation (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Unit-specific clinical orientation
Cross-training across shifts for up to three weeks to ensure competency
