Duties
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or concerns
- Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales
- Conduct product demos when applicable, showcasing features and benefits to customers
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Manage inventory by performing stock checks, replenishing items, and assisting with store organization
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing support over the phone
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures is highly desirable
- Supervising experience is a plus, especially in overseeing team members or managing daily store operations
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, stocking shelves, and conducting product demos
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
