JANITOR 1 TBA-HR-FJ-207

REPORTS TO: Janitor 3 PAY: Hourly
POSITION Full Time FLSA CLASS Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT Maintenance SHIFT Day

JOB SUMMARY:
The Janitor will clean TBB facilities, performing a variety of cleaning tasks to keep the buildings
presentable.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The janitor will be dependable with a keen eye for detail with cleaning knowledge.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Performs general cleaning of the interior of the buildings, including floors, carpet, rugs, windows,

and walls.

Performs minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light bulbs.
Assists in cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing restrooms and breakrooms.
Performs limited ground maintenance such as mowing and trimming lawns and hedges and

cleaning snow from sidewalks.

Remove debris from around the buildings.
Maintains a neat and orderly janitors’ room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are

stocked.

Washes windows, mirrors, dust furniture and fixtures.
Assists in examining facilities for safety hazards, reports deficiencies to supervisor.
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
Clean up spills.
Empty and dispose of trash and recycling bins.
Disinfect commonly used items such as door handles, office tools and phones.
Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
High safety considerations.
Work with a contract cleaning service when necessary.
Work irregular hours and overtime when requires.
Create a welcoming environment.
Bring a positive attitude each day.
Other duties as assigned.

The Janitor is expected to work with minimal supervision and a customer centered focus and initiative
to proactively address issues which may affect Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Productivity to prevent
personal injury, property damage, increased cost or loss of revenue to TBB. Janitor must possess
basic math and computer skills and be able to work safely with cleaning supplies and equipment.

TRAVEL, HOURS OF WORK, & SUPERVISION:
This position normally requires the individual to be physically present at one or more TBB
manufacturing location Monday through Friday as deemed necessary. This position will report to
Janitor 3.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

None.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or GED

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (including but not limited to):

Regularly able to work a 12-hour shift standing/walking.
Regularly able to climb ladders repetitively.
Regularly able to bend, crouch, twist, pull.
Regularly able to lift/carry 80 lbs.
Regularly able to work at a desk for short periods of time.
Regularly able to work in all types of weather.
