Starting time range: 7:30pm-10pm
Ending time: 5:30am-7am
Working days: Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday (depends on scheduled route)
Join our dynamic team (Frontgate, Inc- Indepedant Contractor for FedEx) as a Local Truck Driver (Class A) and become a vital part of our logistics operation! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight within local routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your knowledge of FMCSA regulations, will drive our success forward. Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and TSA screening.
Duties
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers on local delivery routes, including 53' dry van and (2) 28' double trailers.
- Drop and hook only going from location to location along assigned route for the night.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to meet delivery schedules while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA standards
- Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods following all hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols (non-placard, under 1,001 pounds)
- Deliver freight accurately to designated locations, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with logistics cargo handling procedures
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to maintain truck and trailer safety standards and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle conditions in accordance with DOT regulations
- Use mobile dispatch app on mobile device.
- Use Motive ELD for HOS tracking
- (6 day schedule) 1- Sunday per month required or 1- Friday per month depending on route schedule
Skills
- Doubles endorsement or willing to get before hire date
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving within local areas
- Knowledge of double trailers handling is preferred but willing to train.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for precise route execution (truck routing only)
- Strong understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations
- Skilled in transportation and managing dangerous goods according to safety standards
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service excellence
- Good communication skills and adhering to safety protocols
- ability to operate mobile platforms for; ELD, safety training and dispatching
Compensation:
- Pay range is $0.55 CPM to $0.60 CPM depending on experience
- Sunday dispatch premium +$0.10 CPM on regular route CPM
- Most routes are between 300-500+ miles per night.
- Weekly direct deposit (Fridays)
- 6 days PTO, accrued weekly throughout the year (Year 1) and increases to 11 days, accrued weekly throughout the year (Year 2+) this follows state guidelines with PSSL in Minnesota
