The Project Scheduling Engineer is responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for large-scale capital projects, including Metrorail line segments and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) initiatives. This role ensures schedules reflect financial and technical constraints while supporting project controls, contract compliance, and timely project delivery. The ideal candidate has strong experience in construction scheduling, project controls, and data-driven analysis.
Develop and maintain CPM master schedules for all Metrorail line segments; multiple projects within a CIP annual budget
Incorporate financial, operational, and technical constraints into project schedules
Ensure schedules are accurate, detailed, and aligned with project scope and timelines
Analyze project schedules to identify risks, delays, and critical path impacts
Advise management on schedule performance and adherence
Provide reports and recommendations that support decision-making and project oversight
Review and advise on time entitlement determinations, supporting the negotiation of contract modifications
Evaluate schedule impacts related to changes, delays, and unforeseen conditions
Support the contract payment process by ensuring schedule compliance is accurately documented
Develop and recommend alternative schedules to mitigate project delays
Collaborate with Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, and stakeholders to implement recovery plans
Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and adjust schedules as needed.
Work closely with project teams, contractors, and leadership to ensure schedule alignment.
Provide technical guidance on scheduling best practices and methodologies.
Support communication of schedule status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
