Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper / Assistant Controller to support our accounting operations, payroll processing, and HR functions. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, managing payroll, and supporting employee-related administrative processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with QuickBooks, iSolved (or similar payroll/HR systems), and a strong understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
AccountingBookkeeping

Maintain and reconcile general ledger, bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial records

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly and year-end close

Generate financial reports, including profitloss statements and balance sheets

Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Payroll Administration

Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll using iSolved or similar systems

Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

Manage employee deductions, benefits, garnishments, and tax withholdings

Coordinate with benefits providers and respond to employee payroll inquiries
HR Support

Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes, including maintaining employee records

Support benefits administration, enrollments, and changes

Ensure compliance with HR policies and labor laws

Maintain personnel files and HR documentation
Financial OversightSupport

Assist Controller or senior leadership with budgeting and forecasting

Support audits and tax preparation by organizing financial documentation

Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)

3–7+ years of combined accounting, payroll, and/or HR experience

Proficiency in QuickBooks (required)

Experience with iSolved or comparable payroll/HRIS systems (preferred)

Strong understanding of GAAP and payroll compliance regulations

Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
