Overview
Azuki Udon is a small restaurant in Madison Valley, serving handmade udon 7 days a week.
We are actively hiring to fill in some shifts within the week. As a restaurant with small team, ideal candidate means having reliable availability including weekends and holidays, and looking to work long term.

Restaurant Hours:
Open 7 days at 2711 E Madison St.
Lunch shifts (everyday): 11:30am - 2:30pm*
Dinner shifts (Sun-Thurs): 4:30pm - 9pm*
Dinner shifts (Fri,Sat): 4:30pm - 10pm*
*Slight variation in shift end times day-to-day

We have two types of positions: Prep Cooks (Middle), and Food Prep/Servers (Front)
You'll be assigned a role upon hire that best fits your ability.
"Middle" Duties
- Preparing vegetables, meats, and sauces before the service
- Setting up work stations
- Assisting the chef-owner during the service by prepping ingredients for him as the orders come in
- Crafting simple appetizers like salads, sushi rolls, and drinks
- Washing dishes and cleaning
"Front" Duties
- Welcoming customers
- Taking orders at the register using POS system
- Preparing simple side dishes/ appetizers
- Putting toppings on dishes
- Serving and bussing tables
- Washing dishes and cleaning

Qualifications (please read carefully):
- Weekend/holiday availability
- Experience working at Japanese restaurants, or has proficient knowledge about Japanese food
- Must be able to reliably commute to our restaurant location
- Has a reliable weekly availability
- Looking to work a few shifts a week (we do not offer full-time hours)
- Looking to work long-term
- Ability to work under pressure in a small, fast-paced kitchen
Required certifications:
- MAST Permit within 30 days of hire
- Washington Food Handlers Certification within 14 days of hire
Pay/Benefits:
- Pay is $21.30/hr + tips
- Tips made during the shift are shared among the employees working that shift. The percentage of tips you get will increase as you learn the job, so high effort is rewarded
- Our average employees make between $25-$30/hr after tips (based on their experience and what days they work)
- Pay is once a month, usually by around the 10th of the month
- Training period is paid
