Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners to efficiently load, unload, and organize inventory. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate inventory management, and adherence to safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in accordance with OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and order pickers while ensuring heavy lifting safety standards are met.
- Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Manage inventory through warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and manual inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Assist with order picking and order fulfillment processes by accurately selecting items using <PERSON> pick techniques and ensuring correct quantities are prepared for shipment.
- Support shipping & receiving activities by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and preparing outgoing shipments with proper documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment by adhering to warehouse distribution best practices and safety standards in production.
Experience
- Proven experience operating warehouse material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo’s, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or similar machinery.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations including inventory management systems (WMS), shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in warehouse supervision or team leadership is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, forklift safety protocols, manual handling techniques, and heavy equipment operation is essential.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and shipment processing.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety standards in production environments with a focus on heavy lifting and materials handling safety practices.
