Responsibilities
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles across various locations.
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring secure handling during transit.
- Perform basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine appropriate recovery methods.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues on tow trucks or customer vehicles when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Manage conflict professionally when addressing customer concerns or challenging situations on-site.
- Maintain accurate records of all recoveries, loads, and vehicle details for reporting purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience with driving commercial vehicles, especially tow trucks or flatbeds.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs.
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive repair procedures.
- Ability to load, unload, and secure vehicles safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts or winches.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude in high-pressure situations.
