Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30AM – 5PM
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years of Medical Assistant experience
- Primary Care experience is a plus
- Medical Assistant Certification or Diploma
- BLS Certification
- Experience administering injections is a plus
- Epic experience is required
- High school diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities:
- Assist with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers
- Taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Interact with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care
- Show patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers, and interview patients to obtain medical information, measure their vital signs, weight, and height, and record information in the patient’s medical record
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, ordering and organizing educational materials to reinforce patient education
- Perform general office duties such as answering phones, taking dictation, and completing insurance forms, while acting as a liaison with other departments and advocating for patients with a positive customer service approach
- Collect laboratory specimens as needed, log them, and prepare them for testing
- Maintains inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates
- Administer vaccinations and injections under the supervision of a provider
- Responsible for improving departmental quality initiatives such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene
Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
