Interventional Radiologic Technologist — Office-Based Procedure SuiteOverview
Join our office-based interventional radiology and vascular practice as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist supporting our procedure days. Unlike a hospital IR department, our team works in a focused, high-touch office-based lab (OBL) environment, performing a defined set of vascular and musculoskeletal interventions for a dedicated patient population. You'll work closely with the physician across the full procedure day including patient prep, sterile field and equipment setup, real-time imaging support, and turnover between cases, with more autonomy and a broader operational role than is typical in a hospital setting. This is a great fit for a tech who wants depth in a specific procedural niche rather than the breadth (and unpredictability) of a hospital IR/diagnostic rotation.

Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for procedures: explain the process, address questions, verify medical history and relevant labs/imaging, and ensure patient comfort throughout.
- Set up and break down the procedure room, including sterile field preparation, instrument and supply organization, and equipment positioning for each case.
- Operate and position the mobile C-arm (GE OEC Elite) for fluoroscopic guidance, and operate ultrasound for vascular access and procedural guidance.
- Assist the physician in real time during genicular artery embolization (GAE), uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), peripheral arterial disease (PAD) interventions (angioplasty, atherectomy, stenting), venous ablation, iliac vein stenting, varicocele embolization, and joint injections.
- Prepare and manage embolic agents and procedural supplies (e.g., microspheres, coils) per case protocol, maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring availability for scheduled cases.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all invasive procedures to ensure patient safety and infection prevention.
- Document procedure details accurately in the medical record in accordance with practice protocols and regulatory standards.
- Manage room turnover efficiently between cases to keep the procedure day on schedule.
Qualifications
- ARRT registration as a Radiologic Technologist (R), with ARRT(VI) (Vascular-Interventional) certification strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in an interventional radiology or vascular procedure setting, ideally including embolization, angioplasty/atherectomy/stenting, or venous procedures.
- Comfort working with a mobile C-arm fluoroscopy unit; IVUS experience a strong plus.
- Familiarity with embolic agents (e.g., microspheres, coils) and sterile supply handling for embolization procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of vascular and musculoskeletal anatomy relevant to the above procedures.
- Skilled in sterile field setup and aseptic technique for invasive interventions.
- Comfortable working in a small-team OBL environment with broader day-to-day responsibilities (room setup/breakdown, supply management) than a typical hospital tech role.
- BLS certification required.
Pay: $400.00 - $800.00 per day
