Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Med Tech to join our Assisted living and Memory Care Unit, providing specialized support to residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other cognitive impairments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, assisted living, and medical assistance, demonstrating a genuine commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life through attentive, respectful, and personalized care. Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Monitor vital signs and observe for changes in health status, reporting findings promptly to nursing staff or medical professionals.
- Provide specialized care for residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other memory-related conditions, implementing personalized care plans.
- Support residents during meal times, including tube feeding when necessary, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records securely.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care that addresses physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
- Document all patient care activities accurately within electronic medical records systems, ensuring clarity and completeness for ongoing treatment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly desirable.
- Certification as a Med Tech or similar credential is preferred; relevant caregiving training is required - HCA or CNA.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation purposes.
- Strong understanding of medication administration protocols, catheter care, vital signs monitoring, and tube feeding procedures.
