- 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM (6 Hours)
Thursday, September 10
- 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (7 Hours)
Positions Available: 6 Sorters Per Day
Job Overview
We are seeking dependable and hardworking individuals to assist with waste and recycling operations. Sorters will work behind the scenes to help ensure recyclable materials are properly separated and disposed of throughout the event.
This is a physically active position that requires standing, lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Sort recyclable materials including plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and cardboard.
- Remove contaminants from recycling and trash bags.
- Empty boxes, totes, and containers of recyclable materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and site instructions.
- Report safety concerns, hazards, or equipment issues to the project manager.
- Assist with general cleanup and waste diversion efforts throughout the event.
- Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
- Work will primarily be performed outdoors.
- Workers may be standing on dirt, gravel, or muddy surfaces.
- Recycling bags may contain leftover liquids, food waste, and other debris.
- Exposure to weather conditions, odors, noise, and general event waste should be expected.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform physical labor throughout the shift.
- Must wear closed-toe shoes.
- Construction, warehouse, landscaping, sanitation, or general labor experience is preferred.
- Strong attendance and punctuality are required.
PPE Information
- No PPE is required.
- Workers should wear clothing they do not mind getting dirty.
- Closed-toe shoes are required.
- Workers may bring their own gloves and safety goggles if desired.
- Waste Management will provide gloves and hand sanitizer.
Additional Information
- Workers must bring their own lunch and beverages.
- There will be no refrigeration or microwave access on site.
- Restroom facilities, including portable restrooms, will be available.
- Parking instructions will be provided before the event.
Timekeeping
The Project Manager will provide employee hours to the Talent Consultant and vendor at the end of each shift. Hours will be submitted through VNDLY for approval.
