Morrison Land Contracting is seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating excavators, bulldozers, and other heavy machinery on construction and earthmoving projects. GPS machine control experience is preferred but not required – training can be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operate excavators, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
· Perform grading, excavation, trenching, and land clearing tasks according to project specifications
· Work with site supervisors and other team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule
· Conduct pre-operation and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in good working order
· Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment
· Assist in minor maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment as needed
· Travel to different job sites as needed
· Pre-operation and post-operation equipment checks
Qualifications & Skills:
· Proven experience operating excavators, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment
· GPS machine control experience is a plus but not required. The desire to learn is highly valued
· Strong understanding of grading, excavation, and site preparation techniques
· Ability to read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and other construction documents
· Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in heavy equipment operation
· Must be reliable, hardworking, and a team player
Requirements:
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
· Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
· Willingness to travel for work
· Ability to read and follow site plans and grade stakes
