Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. As a Dental Assistant, you will support an Oral Surgeon during various procedures, ensure smooth clinic operations, and provide exceptional patient service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment that values professionalism, precision, and compassionate care.
Must have a current Maryland X-ray License
Duties
- Assist the oral surgeon during clinical procedures including chairside assisting, dental x-ray imaging.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary dental equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for patient appointments.
- Take digital radiographs (X-rays), ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper imaging techniques.
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following infection prevention management standards to ensure aseptic technique.
- Support patient management by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and providing pre- and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records accurately.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient clinic operations, including appointment scheduling and patient communication as a dental receptionist when needed.
- Experience is preferred but not a must.
