Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistent quality and presentation
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish preparation and ingredient needs
- Handle food with care, adhering strictly to food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations
- Follow safety standards in production to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Slice ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to optimize efficiency and safety
- Support catering events and food service operations by prepping ingredients and assembling dishes as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly desirable
- Culinary experience with a focus on food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to health regulations
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills, including slicing techniques, are essential for efficiency and precision
- Experience in food industry roles such as kitchen assistant or line cook will be advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced situations
Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour
