We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee our accounting operations, improve financial processes, and provide accurate financial reporting that supports business growth.

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the company’s financial records, managing the month-end close process, preparing financial reports, overseeing payroll accounting, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
This position supervises the quality and accuracy of the work performed by the Bookkeeper and serves as the primary accounting resource for company leadership.

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Complete month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
Maintain the general ledger.
Analyze financial performance and identify trends.
Prepare reports for ownership to support business decisions.
Oversight of Bookkeeping
Review and approve the work completed by the Bookkeeper.
Ensure accounts payable and accounts receivable are accurate.
Review bank, credit card, and vendor reconciliations.
Maintain accounting accuracy and consistency.
Payroll & Benefits
Review payroll processed through ADP.
Reconcile payroll accounts.
Account for employee benefits including:
Health Insurance
Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance
Life Insurance
Disability Insurance
401(k)
Ensure payroll tax compliance.
QuickBooks & ServiceTitan
Maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Online.
Reconcile ServiceTitan with QuickBooks.
Review job costing and profitability reports.
Monitor inventory and purchasing transactions.
Verify revenue recognition.
Financial Analysis
Monitor company profitability.
Analyze department performance.
Prepare cash flow reports.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
Recommend improvements to accounting procedures.
Compliance
Maintain strong internal controls.
Prepare documentation for CPA and tax filings.
Assist with annual audits.
Maintain California payroll and financial compliance.

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
Advanced QuickBooks Online experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, and unit economics
Experience completing month-end close.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred
Experience with ServiceTitan.
Construction or plumbing industry accounting.
ADP Payroll experience.
Job costing experience.
CPA or CPA candidate.

Success in This Role
Within the first 3 months, you will:
Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial statements.
Ensure all accounts are fully reconciled.
Improve accounting workflows and internal controls.
Maintain accurate synchronization between QuickBooks and ServiceTitan.
Support ownership with reliable financial insights.
Help create scalable accounting processes that support ALMCO’s continued growth.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
