A well-established Bakersfield law firm is seeking an experienced and highly organized Paralegal to join our growing legal team. This full-time, in-office position offers meaningful responsibility across multiple practice areas and the opportunity to work directly alongside skilled attorneys serving clients throughout Kern County.
We are looking for a professional who brings substantive legal knowledge and outstanding client communication skills to the role. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply, as our firm serves a diverse Spanish-speaking clientele and bilingual ability is a significant asset.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, declarations and legal correspondence
- Prepare and organize trial and hearing binders, exhibits, and witness materials
- Manage case files from intake through resolution, ensuring all deadlines and court dates are calendared and met
- Assist in preparation of family law documents including petitions, judgments, and financial disclosures
- Draft estate planning documents including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and related instruments
- Coordinate probate filings, court schedules, and estate administration tasks
- Support real estate litigation matters including document review, title research, and pleading preparation
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third-party vendors in English and Spanish
- Perform e-filing through the courts and maintain compliance with applicable court rules and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program
- Bilingual - English and Spanish (written and verbal proficiency required)
- Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience in a law firm setting
- Strong research, drafting and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
- Thorough understanding of court rules, filing procedures and deadlines
- Experience in one of more of the firm's practice areas: family law, estate planning, probate, ore real estate litigation (preferred)

Pay: $30.00 - $42.00 per hour
